We were brought on early in development of the game to provide key art for internal pitch use. Later we were tasked to develop character designs, environments and props when the project switched into full production.

Overview
Our main objective was to stay true to Rico’s world - the vibrant colors and underlying fun was key to making it feel like Just Cause. And on top of that adding designs that felt rooted and believable.






Process
Working on especially the biomes included a new process where we would focus on creating the silhouettes of major parts of the landscape, pushing the boundary of realism while also supporting the world design.

Collaboration
We got to work on a large chunk of the in-game areas, props and characters - which meant that we had a diverse team of artists collaborating across many disciplines.
